It satisfies an instinctual need to be comforted, and it's also massively adorable, especially coming from someone who didn't ever seem too fond of licking when he wasn't a werewolf. Ryou had always been conscientious about not giving too many dog kisses back when it was him being a werewolf, at least when Atem was not a demon.
