Well. Metaphorically looks like.
Atem reaches behind his head and unhooks the end of the cloth, unwinding and unwinding and unwinding, pulling the formerly sterile, now soiled gauze off of his empty eye sockets. The burns are much better than they were, the remaining pain easy enough to shrug off for the sake of a friend's party, but they're not healed, not fully. And his eyes...haven't come back.
It's an ugly sight, the kind that's hard to look at, that human instincts scream at you to look away from, in case it happens to you.]
